Facilitating a whole-of-society approach to public safety without compromising privacy rights.
Swivel is designed to put your safety first and to help keep you out-of-harms-way. The app delivers unmodified alerts from Police/Sheriff and Fire-Rescue, and/or key community stakeholders, in real time, or near-real time, right to your mobile device.
The information used to generate the alerts and notifications is from verified, trusted data sources such as: calls to a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP), a police/sheriff dispatch center, a fire-rescue dispatch center, police/sheriff operation centers, real-time crime centers, shift commanders, from law-enforcement investigations acting in good faith or key community stakeholders.
By design, all Swivel alerts automatically identify the participating authority and/or the key community stakeholder sending the content.
Communities, including first responders, are frustrated with misinformation, disinformation, and deepfakes. In a few instances, the information shared via Swivel is later determined to be inaccurate or false. Swivel shares the view with the authorities that it’s in the public interest to share public safety information quickly with minimal delay.
Furthermore, despite employing industry-leading best IT practices and technology, no one can prevent all cybercrime. Swivel does use multi-layered cyber defenses, including next generation firewalls that are professionally managed and updated in real-time as new malicious software code is detected.
Swivel provides its notifications without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of title or implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose with respect to the quality, content, accuracy, completeness, freedom of interruption, freedom from computer viruses, freedom from errors or omissions.
Swivel is not responsible for any special, indirect, incidental or consequential damages, regardless of whether they were foreseeable, that may arise from the use of, or inability to use Swivel.
Any action taken by your use of Swivel is done at your own discretion and risk. You will be solely responsible for any damages incurred by you or others.
Swivel is a messaging transmission medium and, as such, is not responsible for the content transmitted. Unlike Social Media peer-to-peer applications, all messages originate from the authorities having jurisdiction and/or key community stakeholders. Any and all queries regarding any content transmitted via Swivel must be directed to the participating authority or the key community stakeholder sending the content. Swivel does not vet, modify, or comment on any of the content transmitted on the app.
